RAKTA launches a new public bus route to the Global Village

Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA), in cooperation with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai and the Global Village, launched a new public bus route linking the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah with the Global Village, with the aim of delighting mass transport users wishing to visit the Global Village in Dubai.

This launch comes in response to the increasing demand from customers to provide this service, which will facilitate the procedures for their access to the global village.

Mr. Mohamed Hashem Esmaeel, Director of Quality and Operations Control Department at RAKTA, stated that the launch of the route represents a quick response to the needs of users of the mass transport network and comes within RAKTA’s strategy to expand the intercity bus service to achieve smooth transportation for all.

It is worth noting that the trial launch of the service started on December 16, 2022, and the service is provided during the weekend days with two daily round trips starting from the main bus station in Ras Al Khaimah to the public bus stops in the Global Village in Dubai, and the cost of a one-way ticket is 30 dirhams.

RAKTA provides the possibility of e-booking and paying for the trip through the smart application “RAKBus”, which can be downloaded via the Apple Store and Google Play platforms, and customers can view the trips schedule by visiting RAKTA’s website: rakta.gov.ae

For his part, Adel Shakri, Director of the Planning and Business Development Department at the Public Transport Agency at the RTA Dubai, expressed his pleasure to launch this route of the intercity bus service by RAKTA, which would expand and enhance mass transportation between the emirates of Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah. This aims to bring happiness of the Global Village pioneers from the residents of Ras Al Khaimah, by providing this type of public transportation that supports the tourism and service movement between the emirates of the country.

Shakri said: “RTA Dubai is keen to implement long-term strategies based on ambitious plans and in accordance with the highest international standards to integrate the mass transport network within the Emirate of Dubai and create a kind of effective link between Dubai and other emirates.

The RTA is also keen to exchange knowledge and experiences with the authorities and institutions working in the field of transport in the country as well as to give these organizations the opportunity to gain from the RTA’s accomplishments in this vital area.

Muhannad Ishaq, Senior Director of Guest Relations at Global Village, said: “We are proud to cooperate with RAKTA and RTA Dubai to provide this new service that would contribute to facilitating the arrival of guests from the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah to the Global Village to enjoy a more wonderful world.” As Global Village receives guests from around the Emirates and tourists every day during the season, and we look forward to welcoming more of our guests from Ras Al Khaimah who will benefit from the launch of this new route to join us with their families and friends.”
