Based on Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority’s (RAKTA) vision of “Pioneering in regulating the transportation sector and ensuring the provision of safe, reliable and smart transportation services.” and RAKTA’s strategy for digital and smart transformation in its services, RAKTA launched the online taxi booking services through the QR Code. With the goal of providing smart, innovative, and new channels for requesting taxi services in the emirate, which depend on the customer’s advance request for cars closest to their location.
Mr. Mohamed Hashem Esmaeel – Director of Control and Operation Department confirmed that the service is unique as it is done through the customer scanning the QR Code through his mobile phone and then entering his personal data in simple steps, after which the system automatically locates the customer and sends the request according to the smart distribution of taxis to the nearest available vehicle in the surrounding area of the site, Where the request notification reaches the smart meter installed in the taxi, after which the request is executed by the driver.
It is worth noting that the pre-order service was initially offered in hospitals and health centers throughout the emirate to improve the customer experience, and work is currently underway to expand the service’s availability in different locations to meet the needs of customers and improve the quality of life in the emirate.
